Results from Country Colts carnival

Our Under 19 Male team played their Country Championships through the week at the McDonalds Country Colts Carnival held at Tuggerah on the Central Coast.
Our first match was against the home Zone, Central Coast with a whopping 637 runs scored in the match. The home side piled on 336 in their innings with our boys falling 35 runs short in the chase.
Central Coast 6-336 (Andrew Ridge 2-33, Blake Dillon 2-50) defeated Western 9-301 (Tom Blowes 74, Fletcher Byrne 62, Hugh Taylor 40)
Day two had us playing two Twenty20 matches. The highlight of the day for us was Hugh Taylor’s 102 not out off 60 balls in the morning match to help us to a thumping 9 wicket win over Central Northern.
Western 1/149 (Hugh Taylor 102no, Harry Roscarel 33no) defeated Central Northern 8/147 (Tom Blowes 3-16, Luke Muir 3-49)
Our afternoon match was against Greater Illawarra which we fell agonisingly short of victory after needing 9 from the final over. Tom Blowes finished the day with 6 wickets, picking up 3 in each match, and Luke Muir took another couple in the second match to finish the day with 5.
Greater Illawarra 8/123 (Tom Blowes 3-22, Luke Muir 2-28) defeated Western 6/119 (Cooper Pullen 46, Harry Roscarel 24, Cooper Stephen 24)
Day three brought some late rain and lots of wind and unfortunately another loss for our boys as we fell to the eventual winners, Newcastle.
Newcastle 8-269 (Finn Macleod 4-56, Cooper Stephen 2-34), defeated Western 207 (Fletcher Byrne 49 Tom Blowes 36, Cooper Pullen 29, Harry Roscarel 28, Cooper Stephen 27no)
Our final match of the four day carnival was played against North Coastal.
North Coastal 4-120 (Tom Blowes 1-8, Luke Muir 1-22, Blayde Burke 1-30, Andrew Ridge 1-37) def Western 118 (Harry Roscarel 27, Jayden Brasier 22no)
