Western Cricket Zone recently announced its award winners for the 2023-24 season.
For the first time in our history, we have named joint winners of our Male Cricketer of the Year award. 2022-23 winner, Matt Everett and Ben Parsons were both selected for Bush Blues. After returning to Bathurst following a stint in NSW Premier Cricket for Gordon, this was Ben's first time at the Australian Country Cricket Championships, which followed on from his Western Zone opens debut earlier in the season. For Everett, this was his third time representing NSW Country after debuting in the 2021-22 season.
Aimee Longhurst received the Carolyn Sheehan Award as our Femal Cricketer of the Year, making he debut for the Bush Breakers at Newcastle this season.
Bathurst boy, Angus Parsons won the LLoyd Keir Award for our Youth Cricketer of the Year. Angus represented NSW Country at the Under 19s National Championships in season 2023-24 and is currently plying his trade with Mosman in NSW Premier Cricket.
Stephen Cain from Bathurst was named the Volunteer of the Year. Stephen has a heavy involvement in cricket in Bathurst as President of both the senior and junior Associations and also coached the successful Central West Colts team in 2023-24.
